MISSOULIANS ON
BICYCLES 2006 WESTERN MONTANA HILL CLIMB CHAMPIONSHIPS REPORT
Forty-six riders
participated in last year’s Hill Climb. This was a relatively
small turn out considering the near perfect
weather.
Owen Gue of
Missoula, took first place with a 13:44.
Ben Parsons of Kalispell took second with a
14:05, with John Curry of
Bozeman third with a 14:15.
Jenny Nerrison-Morton of Kalispell won the women’s crown
with a time of 17:00. Lisa Speegle, of Bozeman was second with
18:21.
No records were
broken or established.
The climb went
smoothly thanks to the efforts of the veteran crew of
volunteers that put it together. Julie Huck was chief
registrar and start timer with assistance from Tom Robertson
and Ginny Sullivan. At the top Dick Lane was chief timer
assisted by Steve German, Ruth Anderson and Lech Szumera.
Holly Eissenger handled prize distribution. Wayne Vanderberg
assisted at the Saturday evening
registration.
