Discussion

Jim Sayer, Adventure Cycling Director and founding member of  Bike/Walk Alliance for Missoula (BWAM) encouraged membership in the Alliance in order to advocate for more funding and better facilities for biking and walking in our city and county.

Bike Walk Bus Week, Missoula’s annual celebration of healthy transportation will be April 19 -26.

A Bitterroot Branch Trail, connecting Missoula bike and pedestrian trails to the Lolo to Stevensville Trail is under consideration by a committee composed of city, county, and state representatives and bicycle/pedestrian organization members.

On May 21 a Ride of Silence will be held to honor those who have been injured or killed by motor vehicles while cycling, running, or walking on public roadways: to raise awareness that cyclist and pedestrians are here; and to promote the concept that all road uses must share the road and take responsibility for safety.

TOSRV West committee members reported on planning updates.
